Find Answers to Your Most Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I get my furnace and ducts cleaned?

Over time, a home’s ventilation system gathers particles that inhibit overall furnace efficiency, air quality, and air circulation. Poor air quality is a hazard to your health, and low furnace efficiency is a hazard to your wallet. For your health and bank account’s sake, you should consider a regularly scheduled cleaning with Watkins Furnace Cleaning! What’s the big deal? It’s just dust right?

Wrong. “Dust” contains a variety of particles that can be harmful to the health of children, the elderly, and those with breathing problems or allergies. A dirty circulation system can contain particles such as mould, allergens, dirt, animal hair, insect waste, and other potentially harmful substances to you and your family. Studies have shown that clean air circulation systems greatly reduce incidences of asthma and allergic reactions. Take our test to learn if you need our furnace and duct cleaning services.

Can a furnace cleaning really save me money?

Yes! A clean furnace and ductwork improves the efficiency of your home or businesses’ circulation system. The more efficient your system is, the less hard your furnace will have to work to provide the same level of heating you desire. A less hardworking system is a money saving system. Here at Watkins Furnace Cleaning, we are here to help you cut your utility bills down.

What about the environmental impact?

Our impact on the environment is on everyone’s mind. The increased efficiency of your furnace after a regular cleaning from our professional staff will reduce your footprint on the environment. With less consumption of fossil fuels, comes less emissions.

When should I get my furnace cleaned?

If you have had a recent problem with water damage, furnace air flow, or can see an accumulation of debris in your ventilation system, now is the time to give us a call to take care of the problem before it grows into something more substantially serious. If you have none of these issues, then a regularly scheduled cleaning on a yearly basis will help to eliminate any other issues that you may have and ensure the performance of your heating and ventilation system.

What about my dryer vent?

Each year, about 13,000 household fires are caused by clothes dryers (Source: Good Housekeeping June 1997). Watkins Furnace Cleaning is available to inspect, and if necessary, clean dryer vents at the same time we are cleaning your ductwork for a small additional fee.

Cleaning your dryer exhaust duct is an important service. The service is often overlooked and can cause water damage, possible fire hazard, health risk, higher electrical costs, damage to your clothes dryer, and a waste of your valuable time waiting for your clothes to dry.
